Sitting on the edge of Poolesville along White’s Ferry Rd., the Hempstone House is located directly across from St. Peter’s Church. I have limited information on this home, but records indicate that an initial log structure was built here around 1815 (making it one of the older properties in Poolesville). It’s believed that the current structure, which possibly surrounds the initial log structure, was built in the 1870s.
