Martin Fisher (1795-1832) and his wife Priscilla (1798-1880) bought their farm from the Young Family in 1824. Following Martin’s death, his son Joseph (1819-1862) took control of the farm. I don’t know too much about the farm, but it’s clear based on the Map records that Joseph’s wife, Mary, remained on this land until her death in 1880.
At some point in the 1970s (based on overhead imagery), the farmhouse and many of the outbuildings were torn down. The stone foundation of the home still remains, as does the incredible stone barn, which was built around 1800. One of the coolest features of the barn is Joseph’s initials carved into one of the stones.
You can find the barn by following the trails at the Woodstock Equestrian Park (it’s probably a 1.5-2 mile walk).
